Disaster Relief Assistance for Immigrants (DRAI)
Financial assistance to employees who are ineligible for other forms of assistance, including those who have DACA work permits, and were therefore excluded from receiving federal unemployment benefits and stimulus checks. Jewish Family Service of San Diego is the organization that will assist individuals with the application process, confirm their eligibility, and deliver a payment to any approved applicant. Practical Strategies to Increase Your Personal Safety While Doing Fieldwork

It’s possible that during your time working in the field as a community health worker that you may feel unsafe, threatened, or harmed. Would you know what to do?

Community health workers and public health workers can learn to be more aware of safety threats and know what strategies will aid in self-protection, stress management, and de-escalation of potentially violent situations.

This 1-hour training will provide practical tips and strategies for improved threat awareness and self-protection during field work, focused on workplace violence risk. Quick, effective stress management techniques, such as specialized breathing will also be provided. These tools can aid in increasing awareness and safety as well as de-escalation.
