Presenting with Pizzazz

Intended Audience: New and current child welfare personnel who want to learn how to enhance their classroom presentation style

Intended Objectives:

• To explore tips and strategies designed to raise the trainers’ presentation “pizzazz” factor
• To participate in short experiential learning exercises which could be employed to tap into the affective domain during training
• To learn the art of “intentional facilitation” using prompts that promote transfer of learning by guiding the processing of information
• To sample a variety of ways to appropriately infuse humor into a workshop
• To engage in a facilitated, solution-oriented problem solving session

Topics Include:

• Sharing solutions to training-related challenges
• Accelerating learning by using short, experiential activities
• Considering the infusion of additional passion, purpose, and processing prompts when designing and delivering training
