Intended Audience: This course is intended for child welfare supervisors and managers who wish to enhance their skills in having difficult conversations with their staff
Description of Course: This is a 1 hour interactive eLearning course that will discuss the importance of building effective relationships with staff and the importance of having difficult conversations with staff. You will learn skills related to having those difficult conversations including feedback and recognitions skills and the importance of supervising with the perspective of cultural humility.
Intended Objectives:
- Identify important considerations for having difficult conversations with staff
- Recognize the parallel process between communication with staff and communication with families
- Identify what it means to supervise with the perspective of cultural humility
- Recognize the importance of building effective relationships with staff
- Recognize the importance of engaging staff through difficult conversations
- Identify the skills related to having productive difficult conversations with staff
- Recognize the criteria for constructive feedback/recognition
- Develop a self-care plan
