Intended Objectives:

• Describe the characteristics of an adolescent sex offender
• Recognize unique family dynamics in a household with intrafamilial adolescent sex abuse
• Understand the effect adolescent sex offenses have on the family
• Recognize the importance of prescribing accurate and descriptive interventions and safety planning in the court ordered case plan

Topics Include:

• Definition of sibling sex abuse
• Perpetrator characteristics of the adolescent sex offender in sibling incest families
• Family characteristics and dynamics of sibling incest
• Case planning considerations when working with a sibling incest family
• Treatment of the family in sibling incest cases
• Addressing reunification and family maintenance safety planning

preserve the family and protect the child.

indicators of abuse, family violence, and neglect, and can assess the dynamics
underlying these behaviors.

interviews, case records, and collateral sources in evaluating an abuse or neglect
allegation and making effective referrals for services or further evaluation.
