TEAMING THE WAY TO BETTER TIME MANAGEMENT
Level: Advanced Practice – Supervisors and Line Staff
Credits: 6
Intended Audience: Line staff working with families and Supervisors wanting to learn how to assist Line Staff to team with families as a tool to assist with time management
Course Description: This course is designed to improve participants’ time management by utilizing child welfare tools and teaming strategies. This course looks at the parallel process of tools such as three questions, scaling, and mapping to not only implement their use with families to engage them, but also help the participant get organized, and stay organized. The focus will be on getting things done with less effort, more impact, and to help participants set priorities and stay focused.
Intended Learning Objectives:
- Identify 3 core tenets of time management
- Recognize at least 2 barriers to productivity, and 2 strategies for overcoming these barriers
- Construct measurable goals based on the SMART methods
- Be able to craft scaling questions for use with families
- List at least three child welfare tools that support teaming with families and their safety networks
- Describe at least 2 ways these tools can reduce timelines to safety and permanency for families, as well as maximize a social worker’s time
