Intended Objectives:
- Describe distinctions and typologies of violence within Intimate Partner relationships
- Identify typologies of perpetrators
- Understand how to interview perpetrators of Intimate Partner Violence
- Identify criteria for case planning for perpetrators
- Make case planning recommendations including treatment options for perpetrators of
- Intimate Partner Violence
Topics Include:
- Cultural competence and intimate partner violence
- Examine the perpetrators of Intimate Partner Violence including how to assess for the various distinctions of Intimate Partner Violence within families and relationships
- Different typologies of perpetrators that use intimate partner violence and how these inform child welfare interventions and effective case planning
- Batterers Intervention Programs (BIP): Understanding about both treatment and interventions available to perpetrators of Intimate Partner Violence as well as knowledge about these programs to assist with effective evaluation if the perpetrator is making progress towards change
