Trainer Biography
Kim McDowell, MSW
Kim McDowell has worked in Child Welfare since 1997, in California and a 4 year stint in upstate New York. She received her BA in psychology from the University of California, Riverside, and her MSW from California State University, Sacramento. Her experience in Child Welfare has included many subject areas, including Hotline, Emergency Response, Court, Family Reunification and Maintenance, and she currently supervises the Continuous Quality Improvement unit in a medium sized Bay Area county.
Kim has a passion for improving child welfare practice through working with youth and families, training social work staff, creating a learning environment in her everyday work, and using teaming approaches to address systemic factors which are barriers to family, youth, and staff success.
