Trainer Biography
Sheralyn Shockey-Pope, LMFT
Ms. Sheralyn (Sherry) Shockey-Pope received her BS in Social Sciences from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in 1988 and her MA in Psychology with emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling in 1992. She has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2000 and she maintains a small private practice. Additionally, she supervises the Resource Family Training and Assessment Unit for Riverside County. Their primary function is providing training to County foster families. Sherry has worked in the child welfare field for over twenty years.
Her experience includes investigative services, continuing services and permanency planning/adoption. She has trained relatives, private foster family agencies (FFA) and community foster/adoptive families. Sherry was instrumental in bring the Heart Gallery to Riverside County in an effort to find homes for harder to place children. She brings her passion to all aspects in child welfare. In her free time sherry and her family can be found outside enjoying activities like sailing, hiking, camping and dirt bike riding.
