Sandra D'Alonzo
Sandra D’Alonzo is a licensed clinical social worker and has worked in the field of medical social work for 10 years. She received her MSW from University of Southern California’s Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work with a concentration in Community Organizing, Planning and Administration and was the chair of the International Social Work Caucus. Sandra went on to provide direct service to patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) on dialysis, performing various care coordination and case management activities. In 2020, Sandra was named Family Health Centers of San Diego’s Provider of Compassion by the CEO for her work with the homeless and refugee populations, flexibility in taking non–traditional clinical roles, often performing her own care coordination activities to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. Sandra “exemplifies the ‘above and beyond the call of duty’ mentality as evidenced by her willingness to work with homeless individuals in non-traditional settings, her flexibility to juggle multiple roles while ensuring the best care possible, her creative solutions and her commitment to those most vulnerable.” Currently Sandra serves as the Social Services Department Clinical Coordinator at Family Health Centers of San Diego, providing clinical supervision for hospital and clinic based MSWs. She has a special interest in technology, trauma-focused treatment specialties, and health equity. Sandra also runs a private practice for underinsured Californians.
