Trainer Biography
Lynnetta Devereaux, LMFT
Lynnetta Devereaux has been working to improve the lives of others through training, coaching, advocacy, and/or mental health services for more than twenty years. Mrs. Devereaux has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services Management and a Master’s in Counseling: Marriage & Family Therapy. She has been a certified trainer by various entities for more than twenty years.
Mrs. Devereaux began working with the older adult population while employed at Alvarado Parkway Institute, a behavioral health facility with both inpatient and outpatient services. Mrs. Devereaux worked as a Treatment Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, and finally the company’s Clinical Outreach Coordinator where she began training community professionals on mental health topics. Lynnetta uses her in-depth understanding of mental illness to help guide, counsel, and educate professionals and others daily.
Mrs. Devereaux was employed at the County of San Diego as an Aging Program Specialist where she managed elder abuse calls and provided training at the Aging & Independence Services Call Center. Her work experience also includes titles such as, Supervisor and County Trainer for the San Diego Long-term Care Ombudsman Program. Since 2011, Mrs. Devereaux has been an active trainer at the Academy for Professional Excellence where she delivers training on topics such as Mental Health and the Older Adult, Social Isolation, and Legal Matters related to the Older Adult.
Currently, Lynnetta works at the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department as a Chief Mental Health Clinician where she supervises licensed mental health professionals and seeks to provide the best possible mental health care to those in custody.
Mrs. Devereaux is committed to providing older adults, their families, and authorized agents with information related to the highest quality of care while emphasizing Person-Centered Care, self-determination, state and federal laws, and best practices for the older adult population.
