Trainer Biography
Javier Perez, LCSW
Javier Perez has over fifteen years of experience working with at-risk children and families in a variety of settings.
Mr. Perez received his Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology at Arizona State University in 1998, and his Master’s degree in Social Work from San Diego State University in 2004.
Mr. Perez is currently a Senior Protective Services Worker with Child Welfare Services, East Region- Neighborhoods for Kids. Since his employment with Child Welfare Services in 2001, Mr. Perez has gained experience working in multiple program areas, including: Court Intervention, Continuing Services, Emergency Response, Independent Living Skills, Voluntary Services, and Team Decision Making/Placement Cluster. Mr. Perez has also supervised both Child Welfare staff and Master’s level Interns from San Diego State University. He is also an approved trainer in the State of California for Team Decision Making.
In addition to his work within Child Welfare Services, Mr. Perez has provided trainings and presentations to both community partners and Interns in East Region. Mr. Perez has provided trainings on Reporting Suspected Child Abuse, Engaging Families Involved in Child Welfare, Documentation, Safety, Team Decision Making, and the Cluster model within Neighborhoods for Kids.
