Intended Audience: This course is intended for social workers, supervisors and managers interested in learning about Safety Organized Practice and safety mapping with a family
Description of Course: The course provides training on how to conduct a safety mapping with a family, how to use solution-focused questions in the context of a mapping, and how mapping should occur over the life of case in order to engage a family in various planning stages.
Intended Objectives:
- Understand the purpose and definitions used in safety mapping
- Use behavioral descriptions when describing safety and danger instead of labels
- Connect Structured Decision Making to safety mapping
- Able to use three column maps
- Use solution-focused questions in the context of safety mapping
