Basic Training Skills – Training for Trainers Days 1 and 2
Level: Advanced Practice—Lineworker, Supervisor, Manager
Credits: 12
Intended Audience: Staff who want to develop skills as trainers
Intended Objectives:
- Participant will identify at least five (out of seven) adult learning styles.
- Participant will describe at least three strategies for accentuating the value of diversity and model diversity of learning/instructing style.
- Participant will be able to demonstrate how to formulate a learning objective.
- Participant will be able to identify three audiovisual training aids and can list two pros and cons in using these aids.
- Participant can identify level one training evaluation and its use for the trainer
- Participant will describe the importance of creating a safe, enjoyable learning environment.
- Participant can identify two reasons for using small discussions as a training technique.
- Participant can identify three techniques for managing a difficult group.
- Participant will demonstrate a 5-7 minute training presentation.
