Trainer Biography
Alice Joy Kirk, LCSW
Alice Joy Kirk is a licensed clinical social worker who has been working with vulnerable and underserved populations for 16 years. She has recently spent 5 years working with the older adult population, serving individuals with multiple needs. During that time Alice gained knowledge and experience in the growing number of challenges facing this population, problems which were severely compounded by a lack of affordable housing.
Alice has worked continually to make a difference in her world, both providing clinical services and training others in how to provide services. She has presented in multiple forums on older adult issues, Ageism, mental health, quality of life, and the rapidly growing problem of homelessness in older adulthood. Alice has gained a conviction that all interventions should be addressed from a whole-person perspective and shaped to encourage resilience, build empowerment, strengthen autonomy, and encourage creativity and purpose.
