Invitation to Academy Board of Peer Advisors
Due to COVID-19, all in person classes are cancelled until further notice.
Roadmap to Recovery (R2R) is a program under Responsive Integrated Health Solutions (RIHS), which is a County of San Diego Behavioral Health contracted program of the Academy for Professional Excellence, a project of the SDSU School of Social Work. R2R is the only peer staffed program within the Academy for Professional Excellence, and the only program providing direct services to peers who have or are currently accessing County of San Diego public services.
Roadmap to Recovery (R2R) supports the RIHS mission by offering peer workforce development and peer-led recovery education classes. R2R’s workforce development includes recruitment, training, and continued education of peers wishing to enter/re-enter the job market, gain valuable direct service experience, and reinforcing peer skills and principles by providing direct support services. These services include peer-led facilitation of recovery oriented discussion groups and individual support services. The recovery education classes, initially developed in 2004, were designed to provide participants with the education and skills to develop increasingly active and collaborative partnerships with providers in their individual treatment and recovery plans.
Roadmap to Recovery Mission
To promote hope, respect, and a mutually supportive behavioral health community through peer-facilitated culturally responsive, person-focused, and recovery-oriented educational classes.
