Dr. Ogle’s work with seniors include running group sessions, assessing for suicide risk, individual sessions and coordinating treatment with family and other providers.
Dr. Ogle addresses a number of issues our seniors face as they make many transitions in life that include: finding renewed purpose in retirement, changes in mobility ranging from not driving to requiring assistance walking, grieving the loss of a spouse, partner, child, or friend, and loneliness to name just a few. In the last few years, Dr. Ogle has brought a focus and interest in using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a therapeutic approach. ACT focuses on what a person values and how to pursue those values / priorities even in the midst of depression, anxiety, and loss. This is especially relevant in the current COVID-19 pandemic where many options for patients have become limited and yet this approach is helping many to engage in their wellness journey.
