Trainer Biography
Kevin LaChapelle, EdD, MPA
Kevin LaChapelle serves as the CEO of the San Diego American Indian Health Center that includes Medical Care, Behavioral Health, and Dental Care. Over the past 30 years Kevin has served in law enforcement, elected official, health care executive, professor and continues to provide leadership development globally through the nonprofit organization he founded in 1999, PowerMentor. Kevin has received many awards over the years including the Channel Ten Leadership Award for his exceptional mentoring skills resulting in the transformation of lives that once were adrift and gang involved, to professionals that include attorneys, medical doctors, fire fighters, and police officers.
Kevin presents globally on mentoring strategies and shares his journey in life that includes challenges in high school as he battled ADHD. Kevin leads a medical outreach team each year abroad consisting of refugees from around the world returning to the place the fled to help their people that continue to suffer.
Kevin serves on many boards and is known for his expertise implementing culture-focused performance improvement in hospitals, clinics, medical practice, ambulatory surgical centers, and behavioral health, nonprofits and colleges, consulting with leaders to identify performance gaps, define strategy, and create measurable change. Kevin Holds Six Sigma Black Belt, Bachelor of Science in Business Management (Minor in Organizational Development), a Master’s in Public Administration, and a Doctor of Education in Leadership.
