Trainer Biography
Myesha Barton, Ed. D
Dr. Myesha Barton is the Program Manager at North Coastal Mental Health Center and has a Doctorate in Education (Counseling Psychology) from Argosy University, San Diego. She started her career path as a substitute teacher after graduating from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors in psychology in 2007. She later relocated to San Diego after two years of teaching due to getting accepted into Argosy University’s Masters of Counseling Psychology in Marriage and Family Therapy Program. While at Argosy, she worked as a teacher assistant in various courses ranging from bachelors to graduate level courses. Most of her clinical work began after starting her Practicum for Community research Foundation (CRF) in 2011. Since then, she has worked in some form of leadership from a Supervisor to currently being a Manager while implementing and teaching treatment modalities such as DBT, CBT, Solution Focused therapy, and Motivational Interviewing with individuals who have co-occurring disorders. She also has work experience in outpatient services and working with children and families. Currently, Dr. Barton is one of the two Co-Chairs of CADRE. She has been involved with CADRE since 2013. She is also a certified Behavioral Health Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS-C).
