Trainer Biography
Rosalind C. Corbett, MS
Rosalind C. Corbett, M. S. is currently a Lecturer/faculty member in the School of Social Work at San Diego State University. She is a trainer and consultant in private practice, and with ONTRACK Program Resources, specializing in motivational interviewing, integrated treatment, co-occurring disorders and cultural competency. She conducts training programs and interactive workshops for organizations and agencies throughout California. In addition, she has more than twenty years of management experience in the fields of mental health and substance abuse, and provides technical assistance in organizational development.
Ms. Corbett was Chair and Co-Chair of the San Diego County Change Agents Developing Recovery Excellence (CADRE), a group dedicated to implementing the County’s “No Wrong Door” policy. She served as co-chair of the CADRE Training and Implementation Sub-committee for three years. She was Project Director for SAMHSA funded services at North County Serenity House for seven years. Roz is considered an exceptional trainer for service provision and “Train the Trainer” programs and has been a trainer for the Academy for Professional Excellence in DDC and DDE assessment, implementation and cultural competency.
Ms. Corbett has developed a unique methodology for training counselors, to use humanistic communication skills combined with motivational interviewing techniques, making them more effective helpers.
She has a master’s degree in counseling and guidance. She completed course work for a doctorate in clinical psychology. Additionally, she is a spiritual counselor and has a Doctorate in Divinity.
