Tahra Broderson, Senior Deputy County Counsel
Tahra Broderson is a certified Child Welfare Law Specialist. Ms. Broderson has been an attorney with the San Diego Office of County Counsel, Juvenile Dependency Division, since 2006. In that time, she has served on the trial, appellate, and embedded advisory teams. As an appellate deputy she writes and argues appeals before the Fourth Appellate District Court of Appeal, Division One, which has resulted in numerous published decisions. She wrote an amicus brief on behalf of the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) and argued the case of In re Ethan C. (2012) 54 Cal.4th 610 before the California Supreme Court. Ms. Broderson also wrote the CSAC amicus brief for In re Caden C. (2021) 11 Cal.5th 614.
Ms. Broderson has extensive experience teaching juvenile dependency law. She has presented training on ethics, case law, and statutory updates to judges, court staff attorneys, trial attorneys, and social service agency professionals from all over California since 2013.
