Anzette D. Shackelford, LCSW

Anzette Shackelford, LCSW is currently the Training Development Manager and a County Consultant for the Academy for Professional Excellence, Public Child Welfare Training Academy. She received her B.A. in Psychology from CSUDH and her Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from SDSU. Anzette has worked with at risk children and families since 1991 in a variety of settings. She was previously employed by the County of San Diego Child Welfare Services Program for over 12 years.

Anzette is the lead researcher at the Academy on the topic of Human Trafficking, serves on statewide CSEC committees and has presented information on the topic at a variety of venues. She works with local agencies and task force in the Southern California region that are serving victims and working to eradicate trafficking in the area. As a senior level social worker with the County of San Diego she worked in various child welfare programs including adoptions, youth focused programs, recruitment, and front end investigations.

Anzette has attended various trainings for trainers on topics such as Safety Organized Practice (SOP), Coaching for Child Welfare, and she also certified trainer of these topics. She served as a committee member on the Commission for Children Youth and Family in San Diego and provides trainings on variety of topics to CWS staff through the San Diego Community College District and the PCWTA program. She is a member of PSI-Chi and NASW, and SDBSW.
